Reuben Hills, Surry Hills

Icebergs!

Bondi that sunny morning!
During a much needed break, my friend Adara and I first headed to Bondi for a swim at Iceberg's. It's such a lovely place and the weather was absolutely terrific. The thing was.. the pool was so chilly even though it was sunny, it was so cold it made my whole body numb. And it hardly went away even after swimming a fair number of laps.

I love how industrial the feel of place is.
After that gruelling swim, we went to Reuben Hills. It's the place to be these days! A lot of people will term the place hipster- it's hip and happening.

L'Entrecôte, Taguig, Philippines

We haven't been blogging for... 3 days!

Cause there was a glitch in our system.

It was overly inconvenient but whatever, WE'RE BACK and that's what matters.

Back to blogging- with a BANG!

Posh, posh, L'Entrecôte
So, L'Entrecôte, they say it originated in Geneva, or somewhere in Europe, yeah, something like that. The whole concept of Steak and Fries isn't much of a newbie for me since it's such a regular at the pubs in Aussieland.

Bills, Surry Hills, Australia

This is BILL.
He's the King of Breakfasts.
I think he's brilliant!
This is one of the places that you ABSOLUTELY MUST GO when you're in Australia. They are famous for their all-day breakfasts! Especially their heavenly eggs and fluffy ricotta pancakes.

Daryl and her hot chocolate!:)
Merchelle and her Chai Latte & Honey!
My hot mug of coffee <3
First off, for drinks, Daryl had the Hot Chocolate with Callebaut. It was a rather different take on the traditional hot chocolate! If I remember correctly, she loved it to bits! Our epic friend Merchelle had the Chai Latte! May I just say that it was oh so good!:) As for me, I had the Bills Own Organic Coffee by Single Origin Roasters! I used to be such a coffee freak! I just had to have one, a skinny one!:) I LOVED IT!:)

Fusion Cafe

Last Sunday, my family and I had lunch at the Fusion Cafe to celebrate Father's Day. There's not much to say about the venue, I thought that they opted for the clean & modern look although some elements in the restaurant screamed otherwise. Before visiting any restaurant, I often check their website to see what they have to offer. I'm just really crazy in that way. It said nothing about the style of cuisine, it was just- FUSION.

There was a special menu for Father's day and we chose to just have an entree and main dishes cause the portions were HUGE and I still had some tarts from the epic Bourke Street Bakery (post coming soon!)

Tiger Prawn Tempura
To start off the meal we had Tiger Prawn Tempura with a Cajun Mayonnaise. The prawns were cooked perfectly and the batter was crunchy. I cannot emphasize how important perfectly-cooked seafood is. Going back, the mayonnaise had a chipotle-paprika flavour that was surprisingly subtle when paired
with the prawns. Thumbs up for the entree!

Wagyu Rib Eye

Grandpa and grandma shared a Char-grilled Wagyu Rib Eye Steak with Mashed Potato and Red Wine Jus. Despite it being top quality meat, they complained that it wasn't tender enough.

Rack of Lamb
My auntie had the Rack of Lamb with Eggplant Mash and Roast Garlic Lamb Jus. I reckon she liked it cause she polished off her plate! But she always does anyway!:)

Atlantic Salmon & King Prawns
Double Roasted Duck
Here's the thing, my cousin and I always split our dishes halfway whenever we dine, this way, we get to try more things! We ordered the Atlantic Salmon with Grilled King Prawns, Chinese Broccolli, and a Lime & Basil Dressing and Double Roasted Citrus Duck with a Sweet Corn Rosti and Baby Spinach. The seafood dish was mediocre. The vegetables lack flat out boring, prawns were fishy, salmon was bland. The dish was much too reliant on the lime & basil dressing which didn't pack that much of a punch. On the up side, the other dish was good. The aroma of the citrus sauce was delightful and went very well with the duck. The duck was cooked perfectly, the slightest blush of pink toward the center. I would've liked the skin to be crispy though. That would've just done it for me! The corn rosti tasted... I didn't like it at all.

Overall, for the price that we paid, the dishes just weren't up to scratch, I was expecting something surprisingly magical. I thought that we'd have better value for the money if we'd have lunch at the posh restaurants in the city.

Lemon Curd Tart- Bourke Street Bakery
...And this is what happened when we got home. Details coming up soon on the Bourke Street Bakery post!:)

600 Day Grain Fed Wagyu Beef Burger: Plan B by Bécasse

Bécasse is one of the premier dining places in Sydney. It's a modern French Restaurant owned by Justin North. For some of us, who are clearly incapable of affording meals at Bécasse, there's Plan B. Plan B is a hole-in-the-wall cafe just right beside Bécasse. It has a range of sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls, muffins, and seasonal soups that are made fresh daily!

What brought me to Plan B was an article of a blog claiming that the 600 day Grain fed Wagyu Burger is TO DIE FOR. To make things even better, the burger was priced at $10! I never really saw Plan B by Clarence Street whenever I passed because it has a really small shop front. I went into the shop and ordered myself the burger. I waited for a mere 5 minutes and my burger was there. As soon as it arrived, I could whiff the fabulous smell of the grilled wagyu burger.

The burger had a substantial bun which was really nice and dense. I flipped the top bun over to take a look inside, there was gooey cheese, beetroot, mixed salad, and finally, the plump burger patty. The burger patty was just oozing with all the nice juices! It was such a BEAUTY, I just couldn't wait to take a bite and indulge!

Scrumptious Wagyu Burger

Might I say, it was worth the time finding the place. It was heavenly! I reckon it just might be the BEST $10 I've ever spent!:) (converted= 410 pesos!) I'll definitely go back there again, and perhaps, try something different!:):)
