The BEST Lamington.

In the past, I've never been too big a fan of anything that had coconut desiccated coconut. But OH BOY, times have indeed changed. Living in Sydney has changed my preferences towards certain things.. like DESICCATED COCONUT, duh. 

Lamingtons are a BIG THING in the land down under. I've had my fair share of them, they're usually just a dry piece of sponge to me. But NO, not this one. 

Jazz City Milk Bar, Darlinghurst

I love how diner-y and vintage the whole place feels.

So, here's the thing, I didn't know there were two "Jazz City's". There's a milk bar and there's a diner. I'm not 100% sure but I've heard the diner is temporary closed. But in any case, I was at the milk bar earlier this week. And boy, it did not disappoint.

Peanut Butter Malted Milkshake- $8

Kicking things off with a peanut butter milkshake. So thick and scrumptious. I had a hard time slurping it up the straw. Oh goodness. After a few sips, I was set. I can't take that much sweet and dairy. Waaaay too much for me to handle. My friend had the rest!

Belgian Bier = Good Times

That is what's left of my bucket of mussels, chips, and beer. By that point in time, I was really happy. I must admit, the Belgian Bier cafe is one of my favourite places to have a good dinner with friends. Mind you, we always end up going on Wednesdays because they slash the price of the bucket of mussels in half. There's also a huge selection of food to choose from so.. it really does end up making everyone happy. 

I've loved cider since I've had my first schooner. They're always a bit sweet, then slightly sour. It's not so much bitter, some of my friends actually disagree that it's a "real" drink. But what the hell, it's delicious so I'll have it. 

3 THINGS that make me so HAPPY.

Just thought I might talk about 3 THINGS that have made me very happy the past few days.

Macchiato- $3

My mornings have just been better lately. With one stop at Workshop Espresso on my way to uni, it makes all the difference. Dem mornings just seem less bleek. It's always between piccolos & macchiatos, I'd say, depending on my mood. It definitely gives you that boost you need to get through the day. Make sure you have some blue Pulse gum after, that's a must. Combo does wonders.

Jamie's Italian, Sydney

It's been a while since I've wanted to try this restaurant. I love Jamie O. Initially the lines were absolutely long but since it's been open for a while it's eased up. My friend and I went for a really late lunch and we were starving.

I absolutely like the feel of the place. It's a bit narrow but it feels like you're in the streets of Italy. Posh streets. I haven't actually been but that's definitely what I envision it to be.

Meat Plank- $13.50/person

Famous planks that Jamie is popular for. I've got a thing for cured meats. Too good. I'd always have it in my sandwich if I only could. Peppers and olives are some of my other favorite things too! And that crunchy shred salad was awesome sauce, so fresh and minty!

Petaling Street Malaysian Hawker Food, Sydney

I completely forgot to take a picture of the frontage so I had to grab one off Google! Credits to Obese Baby. Petaling Street is near the Chinatown end of George Street, near Crocodile Senior Thai. 

I've been to Malaysia once in 2008 if I'm not mistaken, and it was such a good trip. Every night we'd head out to the night markets and have some tasty greasy street food. Noodles were the highlight. There ain't nothing like it! It's a staple over there! There's no way that you'd have a meal without them!

Aroma Festival!

Guess what?!

I went to the Aroma Festival over at The Rocks late July.

Cause really like coffee.

It's addictive.

I think it calms me down and relaxes me.

Plus I feel like an adult whenever I have it- shmo-phisticated.

Cafe CreAsion Macarons

I love the cold cold unfinished cement structure.

Well obviously I've been missing in action for more than a week ages already. No, I didn't travel or go on a crazy wonderful food trip, I was just literally swamped with deadlines, projects, and work. Yes, WORK. Just in case you didn't know, I work part-time as a waitress. Yes, a waitress and I'm damn good at it. Gotta love it when customers tip you well.

Anyway, I should stop ranting and start writing about these ASIAN macarons. I just call them Asian macarons cause the place is run by Japs. Nestled in the labyrinth known as the city, there lies a Cafe CreAsion that particularly specializes in macarons. Yes, macarons. It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a good macaron. And I'm particularly fascinated when there are fabulously strange flavors such as the ones Zumbo creates! Charlie & Co. Burgers, Westfield Sydney

Is change good? I reckon it is. Without change, there wouldn't be any spice in life. Yes, I agree that it's nice to have something stable, but how does life move forward if we just stick to one thing? Change is the only constant.

There's been a change of pace in my life recently. Cause now it's "study period", and I suddenly find myself having time on my hands to do things that I actually like/love. I get to go out and hang with friends, chow down a meal or two, or just have a nice cuppa coffee. I've been getting the ultimate busting gym sessions. Also, the appropriate amount of sleep. It's terrific- relaxing and heck of a good time altogether. But of course, that burden of studying still remains. 6 more days until my official freedom, and 8 until my vacation.

Charlie & Co. in Westfield

On the coldest day that Sydney has experienced so far during this year, my friends and I decided to go out. We didn't have any plans in particular, we just wanted a nice fun maybe lazy afternoon.After meeting at the Apple store and marvelling at the new iPad 2*, we decided to grab lunch at Charlie & Co. I was expecting grand things since the place is owned by Justin North. Justin North is the brilliant mind behind Plan B and their cheapo $10 Wagyu Beef Burger. Love it.
