Haberfield: Dining Like an Italian.

Italian food is indescribably good. Nothing gets me hyped up like an al dente pasta with an epic sauce and some top notch gelato for dessert. We decided to go on a food trippy to Haberfield- where all the Italians are at! It's a small town but dang, there sure were some good things in store. Let me explain, and you'll surely see.

First stop: Dolcissimo for a much needed lunch fix. It was raining, it was cold, it was windy, we were very hungry. Not to worry, we didn't compromise by settling for something that we just happened to pass by. We surely had some tasty tasty food!

Pellegrino, the only way to go!

Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli- $21.80

So what could be better than fresh homemade ravioli? Not much- that's for sure. The only downside: not enough spinach! The whole mouthful of ravioli was just screaming ricotta, oh hail ricotta!

Penne Alla Norma- $19.90
I love that big wodge of pecorino on top, do you agree? I frequently order the Pasta Norma because it always has these really nice slivers of roasted eggplant on it. Oh, Rory, Saz, and I have also deemed eggplant to be God's veg. It's that good and we're that obsessed with it. I really loved the dish and I put so much chili oil in it once it reached the table too!

Vitello Parmigiana- $23.90
Rory wasn't at all vocal about this dish at all. He pretty much kept quiet and ate through the whole lot. Well, I'd only expect it to be top notch since he didn't complain! Not even a bit!

And a bowl of parmesan cheese was served the same time our dishes came. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's nothing wrong with dousing more cheese on your pasta! That's always always a win.

What we really really went to Haberfield for.

Panetones up the top and some fresh Italian bread.

Italian pastries all looking really good.

More pastries!

Ricotta Cheesecake
This is undeniably the BEST cheesecake I've ever had. It was moist, but not too soft, it was luscious and had that fantastic mouthfeel. Sounds a bit wrong. Bottom line- heaps good, incomparable to other so-called cheesecakes.

Cresent Cookies.
I'm not too sure if these two will be considered biscotti! They were insanely chewy and good. Did I mention they're gluten free? Beat that!

Ricotta Cannoli & Biscotti.
I cannot exactly remember what type of biscotti it was in particular, but it sure was something new and interesting. It was my least favorite among the lot, but don't be fooled, it was pretty good as well. And finally, there's cannoli! Crisp, crunch, smooth, ooze, cheese, ahhhhh. That is all.

Who wouldn't be tempted?

Rory in heaven.
Too happy.
Really.
