How we do Valentine's

This Valentine's, Chloe and I just kept to ourselves. We decided to cook and PIG OUT! After much deliberation and hours at the grocery, here's what we ended up having...
Croutons that I made (YAY) for the Caesar salad

The Caesar salad. Haha! We bought a whole chunk of parmesan to cut into slivers and eat it with. We also made the dressing from scratch!
For the fish dish, we wanted lapu-lapu but there were no filets available. Thus, we used the ubiquitous dory! Flipped in flour and pepper and salt, pan-fried!
Fat scallops (YUM) which Chloe criss-crossed and seared in butter

A wonderful salad of rocket, thinly sliced onions and thinly sliced tomatoes, tossed in lemon juice and sprinkled with salt and pepper, then chilled. This was really, really, REALLY good.
All together: the fish + the scallops + the salad. And Chloe made a star anise and soy reduction for the fish. It was sinfully good!
We bought glorious, fresh little mushrooms
And cooked them with the steak! Tenderloin, seasoned with olive oil, salt, and pepper and rosemary! The mushrooms were pan fried in butter!

Must run! I am so so so disgustingly busy!
